A medical examination called polysomnography (sleep study) is carried out to detect any problems associated with sleep.
During this examination all your respiratory signals will be recorded.
Once the cause of your problems has been detected, your surgeon may resort to treatment with a mandibular propellant.
This treatment advances the lower jaw and mechanically blocks the pharynx. Respiration is unobstructed and this will prevent apnoea during the night.
For further information, please contact your maxillofacial surgeon.
